Volunteer Stories – Sharing the Excitement of Cranes

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Jerry Simmons has been volunteering to lead tours and be a roving naturalist at the International Crane Foundation since 2009. He moved to Wisconsin to go to graduate school and has held various positions since, including being a physician assistant at a rural family practice. Before becoming a volunteer, Jerry visited our site and realized that the International Crane Foundation was something he wanted to join. He loves talking to guests about his passion for cranes and sharing his excitement about the foundation. Jerry continues to find different lenses for looking at the world through learning more about geology and the identification of butterflies and bees.
