phu_my_vietnam_icf400We are honored to receive the National Energy Globe Award for our Wetland Conservation and Community Development Project in Phu My, Vietnam, a project which saves wetlands by supporting sustainable local production of woven crafts from wetland grasses (learn more about our work in Phu My).

The award, which recognizes projects that conserve or use renewable resources, was presented by the Energy Globe Foundation on World Environment Day on June 5. The Foundation notes that “This year’s National Winner of the Energy Globe Award in Viet Nam introduced a new model of protected area management by which nature conservation is combined with poverty alleviation and community development. Congratulations to your achievements!”

We are honored by this recognition of our commitment to finding solutions that work for cranes and people!
