My Life With Cranes Presentation with Dr. George Archibald
Jun 23, 2025 @ 6 PM – 8 PMJoin the Explorers Club, on Monday, June 23, for a moving story of 50+ years of crane conservation from the founder of the International Crane Foundation.
In 1973, when cranes were in a perilous situation and many were on the brink of extinction, Dr. George Archibald, along with fellow graduate student Dr. Ron Sauey, established the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin as the global headquarters for the study and preservation of cranes. His dream was to save the world’s cranes, and that notion has been his driving force ever since. Dr. Archibald’s visionary leadership in international conservation over the last fifty years has given flight to extraordinary grassroots recovery efforts across the globe. He has traveled the world to save cranes and the places where they live, and he can’t wait to share his story with you.
In-person tickets are $20 for Members, and $35 for the General Public. Check-in will begin at 6 p.m., with a beer and wine reception from 6 to 7 p.m. The presentation will also be streamed live on the Explorers Club Facebook and YouTube profiles.
