Hours and Parking
The Crane Discovery Center at the International Crane Foundation’s global headquarters in Baraboo, Wis., is open daily May 1 through Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Public guided tours are at 10 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. on weekends only in May, September, and October, and daily in June, July, and August. The tours are up to one hour and cover a themed topic. Example topics include Cranes and Culture, Crane Behavior 101, and Spirit of Africa.
If you are exploring our site on your own, our self-guided tour app is available for download from the Apple App Store for iPhone and the Google Play Store for Android. Search for International Crane Foundation to download.
Parking is free for all of our guests. Handicap parking is available, along with three electric vehicle charging stations.

Our headquarters is located between Baraboo and the Wisconsin Dells just off U.S. Hwy 12 at E11376 Shady Lane Rd, Baraboo, WI, 53913.
Directions via U.S. Hwy. BD
To reach us from the U.S. Hwy. 12 bypass connecting Baraboo and the Wisconsin Dells use the following directions:
Westbound on U.S. Hwy. 12 – Take exit 214 (North Reedsburg Rd.) and turn right (east) towards Cty. Hwy. BD and the Ho-Chunk Casino. At the intersection with Cty. Hwy. BD turn left (west) until you reach Shady Lane Rd.
Eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 12 –
Take exit 212 (Cty. Hwy. BD and Fern Dell Rd.) and travel south (west) towards the Ho-Chunk Casino until you reach Shady Lane Rd.
