Cranes of the World Trunk Now Available for Classrooms

Cranes of the World Trunk contents with flight diverters highlighted.
A quick peek of our Cranes of the World Trunk contents! The highlighted flight diverters were donated by P&R Technology. The diverters are placed on power lines to increase their visibility for cranes and other birds in flight. International Crane Foundation photo.

We’re thrilled to unveil our new Cranes of the World Trunk, a dynamic educational resource designed to bring the fascinating world of crane species into classrooms across the region! This interactive toolkit includes lesson plans, hands-on activities, and rich informational resources, all aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of these majestic birds and their diverse habitats.

To request a trunk, please email our Conservation Education Department.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to P&R Technology for their generous donation of 10 flight diverters, which have been instrumental in completing the trunk’s educational components. This project was made possible through a grant from the Advancing Conservation through Empathy for Wildlife (ACE) Network and support from the Antonia Foundation. We are excited to see the impact it will have in inspiring and educating young minds about crane conservation and ecology.

During September and October of 2024, all K-12 students receive FREE admission. We are grateful to the ACE Network for their support of our school field trip program. Learn more about our school field trips here.
