Clean up for the Cranes at Horicon National Wildlife Refuge
Sep 28, 2024 @ 10 AM – 12 PMThe International Crane Foundation is partnering with Horicon National Wildlife Refuge to host an invasive species removal event on Public Lands Day. We will target spaces used by Whooping Cranes and remove invasive buckthorn, a woody plant that can overtake the forested areas surrounding wetlands.
This event is open to all ages. Please come dressed for the weather and working outdoors, and be ready to haul brush. Snacks, water, and work gloves will be provided, but you can bring your own. Volunteers will also receive a free day pass to the Cranes of the World in Baraboo, Wisconsin, for the 2024 visitor season.
