Take a Ride on the Wild Side: Get A Cranes of Wisconsin License Plate for the Whole Flock
Ordering Your Plate is Easy and Directly Helps Wisconsin’s Endangered Wildlife
Take a ride on the wild side and show your love for cranes every mile you drive! As a Wisconsin driver, you can support the International Crane Foundation by ordering a Cranes of Wisconsin license plate. For each plate registered, we receive $25 to protect Wisconsin’s cranes, and it gives again every year you renew your registration. That steady support goes to directly toward our conservation work with Sandhill Cranes and endangered Whooping Cranes in Wisconsin.
How to Order Your Plate
- Check your timing. Regardless of when your registration is due for renewal, you don’t need to wait to get a crane plate! If your renewal date is three or more months away, you can order your plate for just the $25 donation fee (plus the state’s one-time plate issuance fee) and pay your normal registration when it’s due.
- Go to the WisDOT Special Plates site. Special license plates are only sold online, and DMV service centers don’t issue them. Click the button below to order your crane plate.
- Choose the International Crane Foundation plate. If you want a personalized plate, check that your text is available first with WisDOT’s personalized plate search.
- Enter your vehicle details and pay.
- Watch your mailbox. Standard plates take about 4–6 weeks. Personalized plates take about 6–8 weeks.
- Put on your plates and drive proud! Your $25 donation renews each year with your registration. You don’t need to do anything else.
