This stunning bag features the graceful and elegant Blue Crane! Sometimes called the "Paradise Crane", or "Stanley Crane", these beautiful grey-blue birds are the national bird of South Africa. They are unique in the crane family for their long tertiary feathers and rounded head, also noticeably lacking the typical red head patch many other cranes have. While their wings are folded, those tertiary feathers give the illusion of a long trailing tail, but when fully extended, are reminiscent of a butterfly's wings.
The artwork featured on this tote is a gorgeous compilation of digital artwork done by local Wisconsin artist Mackenzie Phillips. Both painterly and realistic, her work showcases the natural beauty of the cranes while also giving each bird a bit of their own personality and edge.
