Girl Scout Programs
Girl Scout programs offer a fun, engaging opportunity for troops in grades K-12 to earn a badge with the International Crane Foundation. Our education department, staff, and volunteers would be delighted to work with you and your troop to inspire nature conservation through the stories of cranes.
Program Details
We strive to provide a visit that accomplishes the goals of your Girl Scout troop. View the chart below to learn how we meet the badge requirements at each age level. Our programs give Scouts the opportunity to meet the requirements of a badge to be purchased separately by the troop leader. We do have International Crane Foundation-exclusive fun patches available for purchase.
Throughout the program, Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to:
- Observe the world’s 15 crane species.
- Explore restored native ecosystems on a nature hike.
- Practice actions that we can take to respect nature.
- Discover how to protect the environment and save endangered species.
- Meet the requirements for one badge from the Animal Habitats or Eco Series.
We would be happy to accommodate the program to meet the specific needs of your group, including mixed age levels. Please let our staff know of any specific needs when requesting your reservation.
Program Reservations
Tour reservations are required and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to schedule your visit with us at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability for your group.
Request a Girl Scout Program
Girl Scout Programs are approximately 3-3.5 hours and will occur rain or shine. All participants should be prepared to spend the entire tour outdoors. Please encourage group members to dress appropriately for the weather (i.e., comfortable, closed-toed shoes, raincoats, jackets, hats, and gloves). If you need to cancel your reservation, please provide us with as much advance notice as possible.
Admission
Youth are admitted at a rate of $10.00 per Scout (K-12). Groups are allowed two free adults. Each additional adult is admitted at a discounted rate of $10.00 per individual. Fun patches may be purchased separately at a rate of $3.00 per patch. Please note: reserved Girl Scout Programs are a minimum $50.00 fee.
Payments can be made upon arrival using a credit card (American Express, Mastercard, Visa, or Discover), cash or check. Checks may be made out to the “International Crane Foundation.”
