Pedaling the Whooper Highway

They did it! Our Central Flyway Program Director Dr. Andy Caven and conservation photographer Michael Forsberg completed their ambitious goal of cycling the Central Flyway through the heart of the Great Plains. Mike and Andy cycled around 2,400 miles over 49 days, following an ancient migration route of one of the rarest birds in the world, the Whooping Crane. The journey began on May 11 on the Texas Gulf Coast and ended on June 29 in central Saskatchewan, near the town of Marcelin.

Help us celebrate this milestone by supporting Andy and Mike’s work. Your donation will support the Platte Basin Timelapse and the International Crane Foundation for the bike trip, other regional outreach and education efforts, and Whooping Crane conservation in the Central Flyway.
