Each spring, our aviculture staff begin breeding several crane species to help save this threatened family of birds. Some, like the Whooping Crane chicks, are reintroduced into the wild. Others, like White-naped, Hooded and Red-crowned Cranes, are bred in cooperation with other zoos in North America to support captive populations and reduce the pressure on wild cranes.
Our exclusive, plush chick is 7″ high and has embroidered blue eyes, so he’s safe for your little chick. Includes an educational tag.
